Flying Little River

A North Florida Airpark Community

Flying Little River is a private airport community in beautiful Suwannee County in north central Florida. It is a unique community of families who all have one thing in common, the love of airplanes and flying. Our pilots come from many different backgrounds including former military, civilian private pilots, commercial and airline pilots. Their families are equally diversified.

Our website is provided so you may learn about our unique community and what is available here at Flying Little River Airpark. We would like to provide information to those considering moving here so that they may make the best possible decision.

The airport is registered with the State of Florida as a private airport and has two carefully groomed grass runways, plenty long enough for most small aircraft. Our airport also serves as a designated emergency airlift field for the county.

Unlike many other airport communities, all of our green areas including the roads, taxiways, and runways are owned by the community giving us total control over the quality of their maintenance and their sustained use as an airport. The unusually large wooded and open lots perpetuate a park-like setting, providing a feeling of spaciousness throughout the community. Located in a rural area, the airpark is very quiet and unaffected by light and noise pollution, yet is conveniently located just twenty minutes from two cities with good shopping and service facilities.

A modest clubhouse set alongside eight acres for aircraft parking brings people together for events and activities. Although most of the community maintenance is done by volunteers, our Flying Little River Homeowners' Association sees to it that things run smoothly, enlisting outside assistance when necessary. Because this is a community where people are willing to lend a hand and work with their neighbors for the betterment of the airpark, dues have remained exceptionally low.
